Question 7 : In 1980s and early 1990s, there was a major debate on 'whether the computer was "master" of or "slave" to the learning process (Higgins and Johns, 1984). In relation to your evaluation - was the computer a replacement for teachers, or merely an obedient servant to students?
Basically, whatever notes that you have, whatever material that you possess, they demand manuals to operate. It is the same thing computer, (ESL websites etc). It is the same thing in Islamic value where you are ought to find a teacher to teach you to recite the quran or you are to be taught by the devil if you were to learn by your self. "knowledge is sought it never just come". Computer is just another door or substance to the access of knowledge, teacher is the enzyme that stimulated the process of leaning. I strongly believe that by having a computer, it doesnt replace the role of a teacher. a computer doesnt attend to emotional engagement. learners are practically different one another. Teacher is the one who can identify the differences. The navigator as teacher is.
